There is always a game out there that you try to share with anyone you meet as a fun multiplayer game experience. For me, that game is constantly Dokapon Kingdom: Connect. Basically, whenever a friend wants to play a game with me or we have free time after a hangout session. This game is my go-to time killer. It has the same energy as Mario Party, but it also has traditional JRPG set dressing. It turns out we are getting a sequel with the announcement of Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2.
One thing that I love about this trailer is that character customization will actually be a thing! In the original game, you have to unlock different hairstyles around the board, and only then can you change it by going to the castle. Otherwise, hairstyles are all based on the model you choose. There will also be a cooperative mode where you fight giant monsters together? That feels wrong, but also I think it might make my wife more likely to want to play it consistently!

Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2 will release in the summer of 2027 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
