Twitch CEO Dan Clancy has claimed GTA 6 Online will release next year, in 2027.

    Whoopsies(?)

In a new report by Bloomberg, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy has given the following statement about GTA 6 Online releasing in 2027:

“We spent a lot of time talking with Rockstar about their plans, and also helping them think about how they can engage our creators,” Clancy said in an interview. “You are going to see this big bump with GTA 6, but then an even bigger one next year when they launch multiplayer.”

GTA 6 developer Rockstar has only mentioned the single-player campaign so far. That is set to release on November 19th, 2026, on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. GTA Online has been a constant money-maker since launching back in the early 2010s.

Leaked documents showed last year that the service makes millions every week. Its success is believed to have led to fewer expansions for GTA V. Instead, all resources were put towards adding more content to GTA Online. The RP (role-playing) community in GTA V on PC has skyrocketed in popularity.

Rockstar purchased NoPixel server owner FiveM a few years back. A new version of that RP server went live last week, with many old-time streamers RP’ing together for the first time in years.

Dan Clancy, as CEO of Twitch, would be in a privileged position to know Rockstar’s plans on the multiplayer front. Keep an eye on DayOne to see if he recants or changes the information he gave to Bloomberg.

Rockstar announced that a soundtrack will drop alongside GTA 6’s release on November 19th earlier today. It will be available physically on vinyl, unlike the game. That only comes as a code in the box.
