Vibe Together is all about visually putting songs together, then playing through them. Sounds great, looks clever!

How does it work? Well, instead of putting clips across a timeline you have a shared space to link up nodes and connections with everything visualized. It's a music sandbox, where you can turn the music into tracks for various arcade game modes from roguelikes to rhythm games.

The Music Unc team built Vibe Together over more than three years, starting with the procedural music system, then the synth engine, the non-linear sequencing system, and real-time multiplayer. It grew out of an earlier music automation game whose best part turned out to be the sandbox.

“My two biggest loves are music and indie games. Vibe Together was born by bringing those two loves together: a place where music making feels more like playing a game,” said The Music Unc. “Music in its earliest forms was all about community and celebration. Instead of prompting our creativity away, games are a path to bring those fundamentals back so the act of making music digitally is playful, social, and alive.”

A Steam demo is coming soon, with the Steam release date and price to follow, and it will include local sessions, controller support, Steam Deck support, and additional surprises. They didn't mention if Steam Deck / SteamOS support was Native or Proton.

Key Features
  • Build songs you can see. Place musical blocks on a shared 3D grid and connect them to allow for non-linear music sequencing.
  • Make music with a robust harmony-aware procedural music system that manages key, scale, chord progressions, and more.
  • Create together with up to eight friends in one live session, or drop into a live lobby.
  • Play any song in arcade modes that explore genres like rhythm games and roguelikes with the song itself.
  • Share songs, remix, listen, compete, and make your DJ Avatar known in the community.
  • Go deep with a world-class custom synth engine (subtractive, wavetable, FM), a full mixer, MIDI In and Out, and Audio + Stem export.
