Star Wars: Galactic Racer has received its first quality-of-life update following its launch earlier this month, with developer Fuse Games introducing several improvements requested by the community. The biggest change is an increase to online multiplayer party sizes, allowing more friends to race together, alongside new keyboard layouts and several bug fixes.

Released on Oct. 22 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, the update also addresses multiplayer stability, connection problems and an AMD-related crash. However, PC players hoping for full keyboard remapping will have to wait a little longer, although Fuse Games has confirmed that the feature is coming.

What Does the Star Wars: Galactic Racer Quality-of-Life Update Add?

The first Star Wars: Galactic Racer quality-of-life update focuses on improving the multiplayer experience rather than adding new content. We’ve highlighted the most important changes below, while the full patch notes are available on the game’s official website.

Firstly, online multiplayer party sizes have increased from three to six players, allowing larger groups of friends to compete together in multiplayer Tours. Fuse Games says the change directly addresses player feedback and was something it wanted to implement as quickly as possible following launch.

Players who join an online Tour already in progress will also receive more starting credits, with the amount increasing from 4,000 to 6,000. This should give latecomers additional resources to improve their vehicles and remain competitive against players who have already completed several races.

Elsewhere, the update improves transitions when using the Spectator camera in multiplayer, introduces several party stability fixes and resolves a PS5 connection issue. PC players will also notice that the option to exit the game has been removed from the multiplayer menu, preventing accidental quits during online sessions.

Finally, Fuse Games has addressed a crash associated with AMD Frame Interpolation, which should improve stability for players using the affected graphics technology.

One important issue remains, however. The developer has warned that campaign vehicle customization can reset after installing the update, so players should check their vehicle configurations before returning to the Galactic Tour.

Does Star Wars: Galactic Racer Support Keyboard Remapping?

Not yet, although the new update introduces several keyboard layout presets intended to make the game more accessible to PC players. These include support for AZERTY keyboards and left- or right-handed control layouts, addressing some of the criticism surrounding the lack of customizable keyboard controls.

Fuse Games acknowledges that the absence of full key rebinding has negatively affected some players’ experiences, explaining that the new presets were a relatively quick solution while the studio works on a more comprehensive system.

“This is the first step towards addressing this feedback and one that we were able to implement quickly,” the developer explained in its patch notes. Full keyboard rebinding support is planned for a future update, although Fuse Games has not confirmed when it will arrive.

The studio also thanked players for their feedback during the launch period and reiterated its commitment to addressing problems identified by the community. While this first update is relatively modest, the larger multiplayer parties and additional PC control options should be welcome improvements for players who have been asking for greater flexibility.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer launched on Oct. 6, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
