3DClouds has released the free multiplayer update for Formula Legends on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, finally bringing console players into the mix. Online multiplayer arrived on PC last month, and with crossplay now supported, players across all three platforms can race against each other for the first time.
The game takes a fun look at 70 years of open-wheel racing, mixing arcade-style action with enough simulation to keep things interesting. Since launching in September 2025, Formula Legends has received several free updates and improvements, along with paid DLC featuring additional cars, tracks and racing series.
With multiplayer now available on consoles, players can jump into online races, set up championships and choose whatever combination of cars and tracks they prefer. The game uses peer-to-peer connections with a built-in server browser making it easy to find available races.
Players can also host their own public or password-protected private sessions. There are plenty of options to mess around with including different racing eras, track layouts, weather conditions, race lengths and mandatory pit stops. Whether it’s a quick race with friends or a longer championship, there’s quite a bit of freedom to set things up however players want.
Formula Legends is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
